From the Bride:
Our wedding was very small and intimate, with just 15 of our closest family members. We wanted a small, simple wedding to make sure there was zero stress and that we were able to enjoy every moment of it from planning to the execution of it. We chose Canmore Alberta because of the beautiful views and was the perfect back drop. We went down in April to find a spot to get married and we didn’t want the typical wedding venue. We spent the day driving around exploring until we came across the perfect spot which was in the middle of no where just off the road to Spray Lakes, but it was perfect for us. We rented 12 chairs for everyone to sit on, brought umbrellas as it was formatted to rain and brought a small stereo to play the music. The morning of the wedding we had a family brunch together, after that us girls got our hair and make up done while the boys hung out. At 3pm we had our intimate mountain ceremony started where I think every single person cried including us. Being married to the man of my dreams and having the whole ceremony at the base of the mountains was a dream come true. After the ceremony we had some family pictures and then pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate with our loved ones. After our amazing ceremony we stop along the route for some amazing mountain pictures before we headed to Alpine Helicopter Inc were we flew up to the top of Mount Charles Stewart for an hour to take photos. They were the most amazing views we had ever seen, and the most amazing photographer (Chantal Saville of Paisley Photography) who we can’t thank enough, captured every moment of our day perfectly. That truly meant the world to us. After a couple hours of photos we headed back to the hotel where we had a small family BBQ and drinks as our reception. We didn’t need or want anything fancy as that isn’t us. It was the best day we’ve ever had and we are so grateful we got to share it with the people that meant the most to us. The day was perfectly us, intimate, adventurous and romantic.
Special moment from the bride:
I can’t just pick one special moment as the whole day was amazing from start to finish. The two moments that were at the top of my most memorable were walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time knowing that we would soon be husband and wife. The second one would be the moment we landed in the helicopter on top of mount Charles Stewart and seeing the most amazing view of the Rocky Mountains. There was nothing but mountain peeks as far as the eye could see. Both moments were unforgettable for different reason and definitely things we will never ever forget!
From the Photographer:
David & Carley’s wedding was a serious photographers dream! There is nothing I love more then being able to capture memories for couples where their wedding is 100% them! From the start of the day to the end David & Carley’s wedding day was perfection. Their intimate mountain wedding ceremony was just off Spray Lakes Road in Canmore Alberta. The bride and groom had come out earlier in the year and drove around until they found a remote location that they could envision their wedding day. With not another soul around these two said an emotional “I do” in front of 15 of their closest family members with the most incredible views you could have ever hoped for. Then it was off to catch our helicopter to get a quick tour and land on the top of the most beautiful mountain top I had ever seen. The views were spectacular but what was eve more amazing was watching the love David and Carely had for each other. Every single moment of their wedding day was completely catered to them and that is what made their day so special. Even though it rained on their wedding, it didn’t damper their spirits and or their love for each other! I am so honoured to have met these two and their amazing family, and to have been there to capture each and every moment of their dream wedding day.
